The original version 1.01 was created on November 1, 2008. Until now this has been downloaded 2775 times until now, and the update 1.02 1559 times until now.

The reason I have started this project is that I found that there were no satisfactory sceneries available for this airport and which are up-to-date.
...Until now! This is a total rebuild of the default Rotterdam Airport (EHRD). Everything is placed with a very high accuracy compared to the real thing.
Fortunately Aerosoft (www.aerosoft.com) is making one for FSX.
I have replaced most airport buildings, and I must say that it now looks way more realistic.
Included is the newly installed ILS for runway 06 (ROS, 110.9), which is also equipped with DME. Furthermore the ILS for runway 24 is now updated (110.9 - please check the note in the FEATURES section).
Also the apron surfaces now match the real thing.
I advice to use the more realistic 'Real Environment Professional' texture package by Tim Fuchs (reprosetup.zip), which is available at AVSIM.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE AIRPORT
Rotterdam Airport is the Netherland's third largest airport, behind Amsterdam Schiphol and Eindhoven Airport. In 2007, Rotterdam Airport handled more than 1,150,400 passengers.
History:
After World War II there was a need for a second national airport, next to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. Rotterdam had an airport before the war, but this was destroyed to prevent the Germans from using it for military purposes. The construction of the new airport started in august 1955 on the 'Zestienhoven polder'. It was officially opened in october 1956. Amongst others, Air France, Lufthansa and Swissair started operations at Rotterdam. From the 1970's the airport faced closure due to plans to demolish the airport in favour of housing projects. The airport's statistics tumbled. But in the 1990's the airport showed an increasing amount of passengers and movements due to the growing economy. In 2001 the government decided to maintain Rotterdam Airport and it will now stay open for at least another century.
Today, Rotterdam Airport offers scheduled flights to London Heathrow, London City, Hamburg and Manchester. These, except to London Heathrow are flown by VLM. The longest surviving route to London Heathrow is served by the legendary KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines with a Fokker F50. But also several charter destinations are flown, mainly by Transavia Airlines.

IN THIS COMPLETE NEW VERSION - New version 1.03 (April 6th, 2009)
-Changed frequency of the ILS for rwy 24 to 110.9, as in real-life
!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!
In real-life the ILS for rwy 24 has a new ident (RSV). However, due to my limited knowledge/capabilities the ident in this scenery still reads RD! I am not (yet) able to change this.
I have tested both ILS systems and it should work without any problems.
Previous UPDATE 1.02 (November 25th 2008)
Modifications/additions in this update:
-Added taxiway signs directing to A, B, C and D when standing on Y (S/E direction)
-Repositionded the PAPI for rwy 06, matching latest data for EHRD
-Added PAPI for rwy 24, matching latest data for EHRD
All the features in a nutshell:
-Very realistic placed/sized airport
-Most of the airport buildings are replaced and positioned at realistic coordinates. It looks way better now!
-Replaced the fuel station (for GA) to the real position
-Realistically placed parking positions (commercial and GA)
-Realistic taxiway/runway/approach lighting
-Parking assignments for VLM, KLM, Transavia and Welcome Air)
-More details such as service roads, runway shoulders and ground vehicles!
-Windsocks placed at both runway ends
-New ILS for runway 06 included! IT WORKS NOW (V1.01+)
-Added taxiwaysigns at Y (upd. V1.02+)
-Repositioned PAPI for rwy 06 (upd. V1.02+)
-Added PAPI for rwy 24 (upd. V1.02+)
-Changed the ILS DME frequency to 110.9 for rwy 24 as in real-life (V1.03+)
-Added a little Word-document with some info about the airport (V1.03+)
Future:
-Some additional buildings
-VFR reference points
-Guide for VFR/IFR procedures at Rotterdam Airport
And, MAYBE I will add realistic ground textures at/around the airport (MAYBE!)

=====INSTALLATION=====
-Unzip the folder 'Addon Scenery' to your main FS2004 (FS9) folder
(overwrite if asked - depending whether or not you have the old version installed)
-Start FS2004 and and add 'EHRD_MOD' (located in the Addon Scenery folder) into the scenery library
(this is not necessary if you have a previos version of this scenery installed earlier)
-Restart FS2004
That's it!
